My name is Elizabeth Hickey and I am a sophomore at Montana State studying Secondary Education Broadfield Science and I am set to coach the 12-2 team! I have always had a passion for volleyball, playing through junior high and high school. While I never took the chance to play in college I wanted to stay involved in the game. I just finished my first volunteer coaching season with the Bozeman High Hawks and my passion for coaching driven athletes grew tenfold. I am excited for the opportunity to get to work with young Big Sky Volleyball athletes!

My name is Britney May and I am so excited to be coaching after taking a few years off! I started playing volleyball when I was 12 and was taught by some of the best coaches in the state. I’ve coached with Big Sky and I also coach for Sacagawea Middle School in the fall. While I love the fast pace of high school volleyball, I will always have a soft spot for my Littles. My favorite part of coaching is helping kiddos build a strong foundation in fundamentals. Our motto this year is “fundamentals are our friends!”
My personal life is pretty busy. I work at Bozeman Health on our Psychiatric Emergency Services Unit which is attached to the ER. I’m also in grad school at University of Montana (online) for Clinical Social Work. In my free time I do the normal Bozeman activities but finding new hikes is my favorite.

I am coach Cas. I have been playing volleyball for 17 seasons with four of those being USAV. In my junior year of high school, I was able to attend AAU nationals in Orlando and compete with players from around the country. I have played a variety of positions throughout my career, but in my last few seasons I have been playing middle and outside. I graduated from Belgrade High School in 2019 where our school team placed second at state my junior and senior years. These experiences helped me to appreciate the sport for more than just a game.
This will be my fifth season of coaching my own team and I am very much looking forward to it. I have assistant coached several
teams as well and I gained a lot of experience in doing so.
Currently, I am a senior at Montana State University and I am a double major in microbiology and community health. I am hoping to go into hospital and/or public health administration.

Volleyball has been a part of my life for 18 years. I played many seasons of USAV volleyball in Charlotte, NC and was able to continue playing in college at Appalachian State University as an outside hitter. This will be my fifth season coaching USAV and I am grateful to have the opportunity to share skills and gain more knowledge as a coach amongst other incredibly talented coaches within the program.
Outside of the volleyball world, I am a biostatistics specialist for a hospital. I spend my free time traveling, camping, and paddleboarding. Between coaching volleyball, enjoying my job, and living in a beautiful state, I am loving life and all of its possibilities.

My name is Gretta Lawson and I am freshman at Montana State University. This is my very first season coaching for Big Sky Volleyball Club and I’m super excited to meet all of you and get on the court!
I have played 6 years of club volleyball and 4 years varsity in High School. I played for Epic VBC and WAVE VBC in San Diego, CA (My dad was in the Navy and stationed in San Diego). Then my senior year my family moved to Spokane, WA where I played for Renovators VBC and graduated high school from Joel E Ferris. With all my club experience I have attended most national qualifiers (AAU, SCVA, Big South, PNQ) and Junior Nationals (GJNC). My last year of club (2022) my team took second place in open division at the Las Vegas Classic and played in the open division at Junior Nationals where we finished top 30. While playing at WAVE VBC I helped coach a 14’s team with my assistant coach. I was on track to play college volleyball and was committed to the University of Alaska, Anchorage. It was not the right decision for me at the time which is how I ended up at Montana State!
With this all being said I have a lot of experience of different coaching styles, the recruiting process (I’m always around to help if you have questions!), and different club atmospheres. I love the game and I can’t wait to pass on my knowledge! Let’s have some fun!!
In my free time I love to hang out with friends, ski, hike, camp, and explore Montana!

14-2
My name is Maddie Breckon and this is my second year with Big Sky Volleyball. I am originally from Colorado, but moved out here to attend Montana State University. Currently, I play for MSU’s competitive club team, which is where I met Cas. As far as experience, I have been playing volleyball for 10 years. I was a 4 year varsity player, and made all conference honorable mention team in 2017. Throughout my career, I have played every position. Now, I have fallen into Libero/DS and Outside. I have traveled all around the country to compete competitively, to places such as Denver, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Seattle, Spokane, etc. In high school, I coached developmental skills to 8-10 year olds. Throughout my experiences, I learned volleyball is more than just a sport. I want to help carry on my experiences with the sport by creating a healthy and competitive environment for the girls.
I am a sophomore at Montana State University. I am studying to get my bachelors of the fine arts in film, as well as minors in writing and gender studies. I hope to work on bigger, Hollywood movie sets after I graduate college as a script supervisor or screenplay writer.
I am heavily looking forward to creating a connection with each girl that is unique to them. I can not wait to get to know all of them and why they play the sport of volleyball. Please feel free to reach out with questions, comments, or concerns.

My name is Taylor Noyes from Townsend, MT. I started playing volleyball when I was in 5th grade and played setter through my senior year. After high school and choosing not to pursue volleyball at the collegiate level, I found myself wanting to stay involved in the sport. I have coached for about 3 years with various club teams. I also am an MOA ref for volleyball and basketball. I am unbelievably excited to get to meet and work with you all this season!

16-2
My name is Ty Elliot and I have coached volleyball for 7 years. This has included every year as a club coach and one year as the Freshman Belgrade High School coach. I have worked with U12, U14 and U16 teams. I was not a volleyball player growing up in Wyoming but wish I could go back and play as I love this game! I have three daughters and two of them have been involved in club and school volleyball. I enjoy working with the players not only on improving their skills but working on what it takes to work and thrive within a team. I am a huge fan of Big Sky Volleyball Club and truly believe that nobody does it better than we do!

18 AAU
I am from Parker, Colorado and have been playing volleyball since I was 10 years old. I graduated from Chaparral High School in 2019, where my high school was 5A State Runner Ups my senior year. For the past four years I’ve been a starter at Montana State as an outside hitter. Over the four years I have received all conference honors three of the four years, and was selected as the D1 AVCA player of the week this past season.

12-1
Originally from Colorado Springs, CO, I landed in Bozeman in 2016 to study at Montana State University. I have been playing and loving the sport of volleyball since 6th grade in local club and school teams. While I primarily played libero/ds and setter, volleyball allowed me to not only develop as an athlete, but as a leader and teammate. Previously, I have had the amazing opportunity to coach 12’s at Big Sky and assistant coach at Bozeman High School.
During my undergrad years at MSU I majored in Business-Marketing and then received my Master’s in Adult and Higher Education. Professionally, I work with Leadership Montana as their Member Experience Director. When I am not busy with work or coaching, I volunteer for my sorority, Alpha Omicron Pi, with four different chapters, attend spin class, hang out with my dogs Willie & Reba, fulfill my main love language of quality time with my friends and loved ones, or try to be an outdoorsy person.

13 USAV
After moving from Missoula, Montana to San Luis Obispo, California, I began playing volleyball for the SLO JRS 14 USAV team (now the 805 Elite) in 4th grade. I was a four year Varsity starter and Team Captain, and played on Club teams that were ranked among the top 10 in the country. I went through the recruiting process with a few schools (D1 & NAIA), and ended up signing with the Master's University in Santa Clarita, California as a DS/Setter. Playing college ball provided opportunities for me to find my true passion, using the avenue of competitive volleyball to mentor young girls and help them realize their true potential both on and off the court.
In 2003 I graduated with honors with Bachelor's of Science in both Accounting and Finance and a minor in Biblical Exposition. I then made my way back to Montana to begin my career in Accounting and I coached for various programs in Bozeman.
In 2015 I enrolled my two remarkable children in Heritage Christian School and began assistant coaching in the volleyball program. I then became the head Varsity Volleyball Coach in 2017. Around then my career path took a turn and I am now a secondary teacher at HCS, teaching Accounting, Math, and Bible. I have also found a home at Big Sky Volleyball and am loving every minute. All in all, I have been coaching for the better part of 20 years.
I love the game of volleyball, but coaching the girls is my passion. I am not only committed to developing these young women into elite volleyball players, I am committed to caring for their hearts as they maneuver the teen years.
