2026-27 Big Sky Volleyball Tryout Information
We're so excited that you are interested in trying out for Big Sky Volleyball Club. If you are offered a spot on a team, you will need to sign the Player & Parent Participation Agreement along with making your first non-refundable payment before the first team meeting following tryouts.
What is the difference between USAV and AAU club teams?
AAU - This program stresses fundamentals and the importance of team play while adding competitive strategy and success by establishing roles for team members. Skill development is based on position as well as team play. Athletes placed on an AAU team are required to attend all practices and travel to all tournaments. There will be 8-10 players on the team. To be considered for an AAU team, athletes must attend the age appropriate tryout session. Teams will be selected based on skill level. Practice will be twice a week beginning the last week in February and run through the first week in may. Most tournaments are local or in-state.
USAV travel teams require a huge commitment from both the athlete and their parents. These teams will practice two to three times a week and travel almost every weekend during the club season. Travel expenses are NOT included in USAV club fees, and each athlete is responsible for their own travel expenses and arrangements. Tryouts for USAV teams are highly competitive, and placement is based on skill level. Most practices start in January on Sundays with Wednesdays available until basketball is over. Regular practice schedules start the last week in February and run through the last tournament of the season (varies by team).
Registration starts fifteen minutes before each tryout.

Bozeman USAV Tryouts:
November 1st
Location - Heritage Christian
12-1, 13-1, 13-2 - 2:00 - 4:00
14-1, 14-2 - 4:30 - 6:30
November 15th
Location - Heritage Christian for 15-1, 15-2, 16-1, 16-2, 17/18-1, 17-2
16-1, 16-2, 17/18-1, 17-2 - 1:30 - 4:00
15-1, 15-2 - 4:30-6:30.
***if you do not make the USAV team, please come back for AAU tryouts- no need to re-register.
12, 13, 14's USAV Meetings will take place on December 2nd at 6 pm at Heritage Christian.
15s, 16s, 17s, 18s USAV Meeting will take place on December 2nd at 7 pm at Heritage Christian.
Your player/parent/coach meeting with your team will be determined by your coach.
Bozeman AAU tryouts:
December 13th
Location - Heritage Christian
12s: 1:30-4:00
14s: 430-7:00
December 9th @ Heritage Christian for 16 and 18 AAU from 6-8 pm.
AAU MEETINGS December 16th at Heritage Christian at 6 pm for all teams.
Your player/parent/coach meeting with your team will be determined by your coach, more than likely will happen on your first practice.
